In hindsight, the bathing cap (supplied by the TriGator committee) was not the greatest idea. In the transition zone, I ripped it off his head to help put on his helmet, and made him cry. Bad call, triathlete mother. He seemed to cheer up after hopping on to his trike and ran his heart out to the finish line, again, looking adorably cute. (is that redundant, to say "adorably cute"? But he really was!)
His sisters had their work cut out for them, both competing in a higher age group, which meant more swimming, longer biking and running. M-cat has just figured how to bike on two wheels, but bike she did, with no mishap, which I think gave her a big confidence boost. G-force, who seems to thrive on all things competitive in nature, had a so-so swim, but proved to be a biking powerhouse, (it's not easy to watch the bike part, but she made good time) and finished her run, cramps and all, with a smile on her face.
The best part? Post-race freezies, of course.
Until next year!

We missed seeing G-force but the other two looked adorably cute (I don't care if it is redundant!). Way to go kids
ReplyDeleteMarnie - Charlie is the cutest kid ever here! I can't believe he is doing a triathlon already. My Jacob can't even bike or swim LOL
