Wedding Day in Wales (July 4th)

So much to write about. I resort, therefore, to point form:
  • a rainy, typically Welsh morn
  • off for choir practice at 10am in the transformed barn
  • much primping and preening in the stone house at Plas Colwyn
  • a grinning bride, resplendent in a blue dress, red wellies, red flower in hair, and (my favourite), a fantastic red petticoat, walking down the hill to the campside, red dressed attendants behind her
  • the processional, a bangolele/guitar duet, by Neil and sister Kitty
  • a good old Menno hymn fills the barn: For the Beauty of the Earth
  • touching vows, rings (made by my wonderfully talented new sister-in-law) exchanged
  • the recessional, which reminded me of an old national film board clip: The Log Driver's waltz - so much fun to sing to
  • a meal of roast pig and salad, enjoyed to much live music and tales of Darren and Sally
  • did I mention the music?
  • sheeps bleating their good wishes to the couple
  • a surprise appearance from a visiting Hungarian drumming group staying at the campsite, complete with Hungarian wedding blessing
  • a very happy bride and groom
  • a wonderful family have I
